Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope everyone hasn’t been too bored during this time of self isolation. Even with school being at home, I am still being kept busy (which is kinda nice).
This week I continued reading Scott Kirsner’s book called Fans, Friends, & Followers and I have been learning more about how an audience’s interaction with your work can really make or break your career. In a common scenario where a small artist moves from producing their own music joining a big production company, it is so important to know what you are getting into so you continue to be yourself on this bigger platform. To learn more about this, definitely go check out Scott’s book!
I also received an email from Labcorp’s video company this week. Because everyone is practicing physical isolation, it doesn’t look like I will be able to get in their studio to learn or film with the crew anytime soon. That being said, I am going to remain in contact with them as the school year goes on. As it gets closer to the end of the year and if Coronavirus is still this widespread, I will have to change my final project a little bit… We will get there when we get there.
This week, my main focus was learning about Adobe Premiere Pro 2020, an video editing application I was introduced to earlier this year. I found some videos online to help me to know where to get stated because Adobe looks very complicated when you first open it up and see all of the options! I linked the most useful video I used down below in case you are interested. I hope to try and make a video on this application soon but I did notice some pitfalls while learning to use Premiere Pro. Because I have limited storage on my computer, and Adobe takes up a lot, editing will be even more time consuming than it already is. Even after taking what felt like an hour to delete old files and applications on my computer, I still don’t have as much space for footage as I would like. But, that won’t stop me (hopefully, we’ll see)!
Thanks for reading this weeks post. Have a great weekend and please stay safe!
